BAHAY PARA SA KINABUKASAN

This structure was designed to meet the demands for affordable housing in the country. Each structure has five levels that house 40 thirty square meter modules. Each module is equivalent to a single bedroom unit but can be combined to create larger flats for the users. These modules area arranged around a central stair that allows access to the different levels.

 

The structure is designed to go up to five levels with the central stair acting as the main circulation spine. Elevated on stilts, the structure allows for the proper cross ventilation for the units with the stair core acting as the stack that dissipated odors and heat from the different units.

Each unit is equip with a single toilet and bath, a sink and a bangerrahan which is an integral part of the kitchen of the Bahay Kubo. Each unit is also provided with five windows that allow proper natural light and ventilation as well as incorporates a drying area for laundry. The structure was designed to meet the needs of a user. It is efficient, cost effective and easy to construct enabling developers to provide for the much needed affordable housing units.
