LANAO DEL NORTE PROVINCIAL CAPITOL

As an office building type, the special and specific program requirements of the province was met through the development of a comprehensive and flexible office system.

As a landmark to the province, the Capitol Building of Lanao del Norte is the personification of the Muslim Architecture adapted to the general Philippine setting. It uses both native and Muslim influences to develop an image that is unique to the province and to the region.

The general design concept uses the environment as the guide. Plant boxes, recessed slanted windows and wide overhangs ensure that even without air-conditioning, the building interiors will remain cool and comfortable for the users. All building materials used are local to the region and from sustainable sources thus protecting the environment.
