FLOIRENDO RESIDENCE

Malipano Island, Davao

One of the Philippines major agricultural produces commissioned the firm to design this indigenous house as his weekend home. Built totally in bamboo, this private retreat of the Floirendos showcases Philippine furniture in bamboo, rattan, and coconut. Fabrics are woven from abaca and banana fibers. The ceiling in the house are lined with delicate ‘anahaw’ palm leaves. The use of capiz shells also showcases the house. It likewise showcases the family’s collection of crafts.
